After initial training as a journalist and a dip into the world of Public Relations, Alan joined British Airways where his future career with Fares and Ticketing began, in one form or another. Involvement in the Training side soon followed, as did knowledge and experience of the subjects taught and of the air industry with its myriad of rules, regulations and exceptions.
Leaving BA in 1984, Alan spent 4 years in Swaziland with the small local airline of that nation as Revenue Accountant and Training Officer. Returning from Africa, 2 years were spent with a small airline in the South West of England, followed by a return to British Airways in London, although with a subsidiary company, rather than the parent company itself. It was here that Training full time was the job remit, mostly to classes of 20+ delegates, either in company HQ classrooms or in locations up and down the UK.
Becoming self-employed in 1995, Alan spent a lot of time working throughout Sweden for a Swedish training company based in Malmö. This was where he learnt to use the Amadeus GDS and proceeded to run training courses on the system.
Alan has many qualifications spanning across various GDS and including IATA/UFTAA Advanced Diploma (Geneva)

I have all the Fares and Ticketing qualifications, CITP, and 7307 Adult and Further Education Certificates.

Since completing a Diploma in Travel and Tourism at college I spent many years working in the Cruise Industry for P&O Cruises and Swan Hellenic. I became Reservations Manager for Swan Hellenic Cruises dealing with airlines, local agents and authorities. In addition to working in the office I was very fortunate to work on board the ship and visit some fascinating places around the world. This inspired me to work on board on a more permanent basis as Deputy Cruise Director.
I have always enjoyed training and nurturing new staff and this together with my reservations background enabled me to become one of the newer members of the Plane Training team.
As a Trainer it gives me the opportunity to meet people from all areas of the travel industry and assist and guide them in their learning process which is something I enjoy. Jude started her training career working with ‘women returners’ who needed to update their skills before returning to the workplace once their children had grown up. That was back in the days of Windows 3.x (eeek!) From that point forward she knew that helping others make sense of IT systems was something she found rewarding and enjoyable. Since that time Jude has worked across a broad range of sectors, from Blue Chip Multinationals to Adult and Further Education, delivering training in the UK, Europe and North America.
Whilst classroom-based training is still a feature of Jude’s working week, she is finding that the demand for short, targeted training sessions on specific topics, usually delivered online is growing rapidly. Jude also delivers training consultancy services, helping training teams develop their own delivery and training project management capabilities.
Keith started his long and illustrious career in travel with Pan Am in reservations and ticketing. He subsequently moved into training and specialized in fares and ticketing courses, many of which were conducted in the Pan Am’ training centre in Miami.
I moved to work with Galileo in Swindon in 1991 and subsequently Langley, developing training content and conducting courses for Galileo’s distributors in many countries.
More recently, I have worked as a training consultant for ‘Plane Training, developing written training material and recording video training clips, and teaching a wide variety of Galileo and Apollo courses.
I began my career in training whilst working for a company called RCI Europe Ltd.
My work involved delivery of various types of training from our three week induction training for new staff, including systems based training (including Galileo and numerous reservations systems), soft skills training as well as geography workshops.
I began working as a contract trainer with Travelport in August 2003. I have since developed a number of courses and recordings for new products Recordings For a number of products I was required to work directly with the developers and to develop all training and support material. This has been especially complex and has required involvement with numerous departments and on-going participation and support in this becoming a fully-fledged product.
Due to my involvement with the developers on this project they also requested my participation on the Quality Assurance of the Rich Content and Branding within Smartpoint that was developed for a customer in Canada.
I am also fluent in French and in my spare time teach English.
